In Napoleon Hill’s classic, Think and Grow Rich, there’s a story that has always stayed with me…
A man once joined the gold rush, investing all he had to dig a promising mine. After finding a few flakes, his hope grew, but the deeper he dug, the more disappointment he faced. Eventually, he gave up, convinced there was nothing there. He sold the mine to a local man, who consulted an engineer. Just three feet from where the original owner had quit… was one of the richest gold veins in Colorado history.
I share that story not just because it’s memorable, but because I lived it.
There was a point in my life when everything felt like failure. I was exhausted, unsure, and deeply tempted to walk away from it all. That was before ‘The 10-Second Philosophy®’, before DailyStandards.com, before stages, books, or financial success.
I now know, I was just three feet from gold.
What turned everything around wasn’t some big goal. It was committing to small, intentional Daily Standards. It was showing up differently each day, regardless of results.
So, if you’re at the edge of something, maybe tired, doubting, or disillusioned, please hold on.
You may be much closer than you think.
Keep digging.
