When I first saw the ‘Justice & Care’ video of girls as young as 10 being rescued from sex-trafficking by the charity and police, I knew that I had to do something, to help stop this wicked process. I have three daughters and the thought of anything like this affecting any child or teen, is abhorrent.
Children, women and men, are being targeted and sold for sex and into slavery every single day, both here in the UK and abroad. I’m sure you understand my feelings. Part of Justice & Care’s work is to bring perpetrators to justice and to spark systemic change. Furthermore, the charity helps those trafficked to restore their lives. I am asking if you would be willing to play a part by supporting Justice & Care.
You may remember, my team and I, climbed Snowdon in March 2020, the week before we went into lockdown for the first time. If I’m honest, the actual climb is all a bit of a blur now. The weather was against us, walking through blizzard after blizzard and with temperatures well below freezing for most of it. We did make it to the top but were really glad when it was over.
As a team, we have decided to climb Snowdon again but this time in July, when the weather will hopefully be warmer, and it will be a more pleasurable experience. Although, I’m not sure how pleasurable an experience climbing a mountain can be!
This time, instead of wearing 5 layers to get us through, we hope to wear our Justice & Care tee shirts, so we can raise awareness while we climb.
We would also love your support. Our gratitude for those who have already donated to this cause is massive. We have set ourselves a big target to hit, so any donation, however small, will be greatly appreciated.
Here is our Just Giving link if you would like to make a donation: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/derek-mills-wealth-consultancy – we will also post updates on our Just Giving page as we train for the climb.
Our thanks to you.
God Bless.
