Did you know, we have recently gone through what is called, Blue Monday, when most people will have quit their new year’s resolutions? Try asking the next 10 people that you meet. Ask them what resolutions they made on January 1st. You will find that most of them will struggle to remember. What are the chances, that something you can’t remember or that you have already quit doing, will have a positive impact on your year, never mind your life?
There is a single reason why people do not maintain the strategies that would help them become successful. The reason is that whilst they set goals, they do not set the correct basis, criteria, levels, qualities or rules (Daily Standards) to support them in an automated way.
What do I mean by automated?
Success is a set-up. So is failure.
Like you, I am only human and I found long ago that if I had to remember everything I had to do, how I had to do it and who I had to do it with, I would probably fail a lot more than I do. Instead, I set-up support systems using certain people around me as buddies. I use technology such as smart phone reminders, Outlook diary and alarms. It is vital to have those around you, support you in sticking to your Daily Standards. The trade off is that you support them in sticking to theirs.
Having things set-up, systemised or automated, sounds like it would limit creativity. The opposite is actually true. This approach allows the mind to be clear and to have space. As a result, your creative genius begins to flow even more into your life than ever before.
Remember, as you read the next few paragraphs, to keep your mind on the things you want and off the things you don’t or shouldn’t want!
My Typical Day
Personal
Every day, my breakfast, lunch, mid-morning snack and mid-afternoon snack are delivered to me. I utilise a business which supplies organic, healthy foods. As a result, I haven’t got to think about putting the wrong types of food into my body, which I used to do when I used to grab snacks and food from random places. I have set myself up to be successful with my food and diet. As a result of sticking to these Daily Standards, by setting myself up each day, I have lost approximately a stone since November 2015, and kept it off.
Business
My diary is organised to tell me what to focus on and with whom, throughout the day. I have different types of days: some are focus, some are planning, some are just leisure. I also have reminders on my phone and automated meditations, both morning and evening. In addition to this, I have an awesome team that supports me doing what I do best. They work to make sure that I don’t do the stuff I shouldn’t be doing and that I’m not good at. Business is fun and great.
My business model sets Daily Standards in relation to clients, their wealth and their personality types. Furthermore, I have Standards around when clients can see me and the rules and basis of our working relationship. I set this up in advance and gain their agreement to stick to these Daily Standards, if they wish to work with me.
It’s pretty clear that when you set your day up like this, that more success will come to you because you will be sticking with your Daily Standards.
“Consider your Daily Standards as a stairway to your goals.”
